Project
An Intranet portal designed to provide easy access to all research and academic needs of faculty and students.
Context
When the school's Internet website was outsourced to a professional design group, a need arose for an easier interface for academic users and designers.
Conditions
- A collaborative effort between technology, English and library staffs.
- FrontPage was required software.
- Designed and maintained by one individual.
Scope
- Project was successfully implemented over three years ago and has undergone dynamic modifications since then.
- Library staff gradually learned to maintain and modify their content.
- Student and faculty web pages are easily accessed thereby eliminating the need to remember cumbersome addresses.
- Technical training materials have been centralized.
Role
- Provides a base for developing exemplary learning objects, with much training provided as both print and video.
- Enhanced student access to Writing Workshop.
