"DrScheme Programming"

Project

Article prepared in response to request for submission to FISTA newsletter for overview of DrScheme programming language.

Context

• This article summarizes the key features and potential advantages of DrScheme as presented at a workshop at the University of Utah in 2002.

Conditions 

• Workshop attendees remarked that benefits were experienced by both qualified and unskilled programming students.
   
• I was eager to share a programming alternative that had been shown to potentially increase the success of programming by female students.

Scope 

• While having gained acceptance at many prestigious universities, at present, no members of FISTA have adopted DrScheme.
   

Role

• As a FISTA board member, I occasionally submit papers on topics of potential interest to organization members.
