It's one thing to acquire empowering technology... it's another, to empower it!

To enable better learning, schools acquire empowering technology, leaving educators to empower the technology. But educators face time constraints and are especially hardpressed to embrace technologies they haven't experienced. Increasingly, changing roles, goals and paradigms of cheating and cooperation will challenge conventional teaching.

For students empowering technogies are exciting opportunities to explore and apply. They face the challenge of acquiring skills to compete in a globally dynamic environment with access to seemingly unlimited information.

Education must meet the needs of both educators and students, so that neither is intimidated nor hindered by the inabilities of the other.

As an Instructional Technologist I enjoy designing solutions to educational problems using a variety of multimedia. This website is for sharing both the process and results of my work, for exploring new technologies, and for pondering the bigger picture.

Welcome to my web. Be sure to visit Topical Island, my web links collection. Return often for new ideas and suggestions. We all learn by sharing: your comments are invaluable and form the basis for ongoing training materials and tips.

Life's short. Enjoy!
